I recently combed out my locs and my hair is very dry. How do I care for my hair now?
DIANE SAYS:
Congrats on combing out your Locs! It’s a long and tedious process and I have serviced several clients with the Loc Comb-out. Once your Locs have been released from the coily hair formed into intertwined knots, they can be very dry and brittle. Very curly and coily hair is generally dry. To prevent dryness and maintain moisture and manageability on your new found freedom hair, I suggest you start a monthly regimen with Carol’s Daughter Olive Oil Infusion Kit. This pre-shampoo treatment contains Khoret Amen Hair Oil and Khoret Amen Smoothie. It is applied before you shampoo and condition, and will soften your hair considerably, moisturize it and make it easy to detangle. As far as styling options, you should try Flat-twist sets, Braid-Out, Twist-Out and Two-Strand Twist that can easily style into French Rolls, Buns and Top Knots for a more professional look.
