All-Natural DIY Beauty: Organic Face Mask, Face Scrub and Lip Scrub

By Fran of HeyFranHey.com

Most of us will spend hours detangling, cleansing, deep-treating, conditioning and moisturizing our hair—but only a few minutes out of the day catering to our skin. While our skin may not need the same amount of daily attention, being that there’s but so much you can do it to it, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pamper it on a regular basis, as well. It is the first thing people notice when they see us. Why not? Also, it’s important to take some time to breathe, relax and pamper yourself. The right combination of healthy eating, water, sleep and organic skin care regimens will have you looking forever young! You can buy tons of awesome over-the-counter organic masks and scrubs but there’s nothing more nutritious and beneficial than making your very own from scratch. Not only is it a lot cheaper and filled with less chemical additives but you can also customize it to smell and feel exactly how you see fit for your skin type. Masks are perfect for deep hydration as well as unclogging and minimizing pores. Scrubs are my favorite for removing dead skin cells, which in turn gradually fades stubborn blemishes and marks and gives you glowing, buttery, baby soft skin again.  I’ve also noticed, from using the Oil Cleansing Method, that hydration from natural and essential oils lasts a lot longer on the skin. Here are 3 of my tried and true all-natural DIY recipes for skin care. Perfect for these harsh winter months ahead, too!

Organic Oatmeal, Almond Milk & Honey Face Mask For Dry Skin

Benefits:

Oatmeal’s texture gives the pores a deep cleanse while also hydrating the skin. Almond milk has essential vitamins and fatty acids that help keep the skin clear, smooth and supple. Honey is an anti-oxidant (helpful for anti-aging) and an anti-microbial which helps the skin release toxins and wastes.

Recipe:

1 cup of Almond Milk (Unsweetened)
2 tablespoons of Oatmeal
2 teaspoons of Raw Honey

Directions:

-       Heat almond milk and oats on medium until concoction is thick.
-       Allow to slightly cool then add the teaspoons of honey
-       Apply mixture of almond milk, oatmeal and honey to face, while still warm, and leave on skin as a mask for 25-30 min.
-       Rinse with warm water
-       Moisturize skin

Organic Almond Oil & Dark Brown Sugar Scrub For Every Skin Type

Benefits:

Almond oil is loaded with omega fatty acids that promote anti-aging as well as clear, hydrated and glowing skin. Dark Brown Sugar granules are infused with molasses, which help soften the scrubbing effect on sensitive skin while also hydrating deep into the pores and gradually fading discoloration and scars.

Recipe:

½ cup of Organic Almond Oil
2 tablespoons of Organic Dark Brown Sugar

Directions:

-       Pour Almond oil into a small jar
-       Add tablespoons of Organic Dark Brown Sugar
-       Mix with spoon until scrub is created
-       Scrub skin and targeted areas in a circular motion
-       Rinse with warm water
-       Moisturize skin

Organic Almond Oil, Honey & Dark Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

Almond oil will promote soft and supple skin in the lip area. Honey will serve as an all-natural hydrating lip balm that is also a shine serum. The Dark Brown Sugar will remove dry and dead skin cells.

Recipe:

1 tablespoon of Almond Oil
1 teaspoon of Honey
1 teaspoon of Dark Brown Sugar

Directions:

-       Pour Almond Oil in a small bowl
-       Add teaspoon of honey and teaspoon of Dark Brown Sugar
